Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She was widely credited for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and also children's witnesses. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers as well as received numerous grants. She has also has been awarded many international and national distinctions. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around all over the world on policy as well as research related to child victims of the law by the system. She is a consultant at the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center and was previously The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of a variety of professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a part of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding Member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
